Difference between "Illegal remains" and "Illegal stay":VISA

QFI am overstaying now. What is the above difference?
AFgIllegal remainsh means person who entered Japan legally with proper visa. Then the person continues to stay in Japan after their visa has been expired.

@ gIllegal stayh means person who entered Japan illegally without proper documents as blockade runner on migrant smuggling boat or person who is one of blockade runner with proper documents such as passport.
